George joined Dalakos Fassolis Theofanopoulos Law Firm as a trainee in 1997 and, following the completion of his postgraduate studies, returned as an associate in 2000. George became a partner of the firm in January 2017. He is qualified to practice before the Supreme Court. His areas of expertise are maritime, corporate and commercial, banking and finance as well as real estate, focusing particularly in shipping and commercial litigation and dispute resolution. He also specialises in the field of satellite maritime telecommunications.
George is an experienced and well-reputed shipping and commercial litigator representing clients before Greek courts of all levels in maritime, commercial and civil litigation and dispute resolution, including negotiations, mediation and arbitration, mainly focusing in disputes arising from breach of commercial contracts, cargo and marine insurance claims, ship arrests and auctions, marine employment and personal injury of seamen and passengers, corporate disputes, insolvency proceedings and disputes in tort. He also engages in criminal and administrative litigation arising from his clients’ conduct.
He advises clients on a wide range of maritime matters, including ship sale and purchase, charter arrangements and contracts of affreightment, ship financing transactions, collision, salvage, marine insurance and marine labour, as well as corporate, commercial and financial matters, including commercial agreements, domestic and international corporate structures, joint ventures, mergers and acquisitions.
George has also extensive experience in the field of satellite maritime telecommunications as well as in real estate.
