Michael is a founding and senior partner of Dalakos Fasolis Law Firm, practicing law since 1984. He is qualified to practice before the Supreme Court. His areas of expertise are maritime, corporate, commercial, banking and finance, focusing particularly in shipping and commercial litigation and dispute resolution.

Michael has earned a wide respect across the legal and shipping community. Having acted for shipowners, managers, charterers and banks, his expertise covers the whole spectrum of the shipping industry, from ship building contracts, ship sale and purchase, ship financing, charter arrangements and contracts of affreightment to collision, salvage, marine insurance and marine labour.

He also has a depth of experience in the corporate, commercial and financial sectors, providing insightful advice and legal solutions in a wide range of matters, including commercial agreements, domestic and international corporate structures, joint ventures, mergers, restructures, liquidation and insolvency, asset-based and project financing transactions and foreign investments.

Michael represents clients before Greek courts of all levels in maritime, commercial and civil litigation and dispute resolution, including negotiations, mediation and arbitration. He enjoys an unrivalled reputation as a shipping and commercial litigator, focusing particularly in disputes arising from breach of commercial contracts, cargo and marine insurance claims, ship arrests and auctions, marine employment and personal injury of seamen and passengers, corporate disputes, insolvency proceedings and disputes in tort. He also represents clients in criminal and administrative litigation arising from his clients’ conduct and handles domestic and international mediations and arbitrations under the most used arbitration forums.

Michael has also extensive experience in yachts, real estate and energy.
